Heat tolerant Moss

Posted by Teresa's Plants & More Store at 09:38 AM on January 06, 2010
I live in texas and would like to know whats the most heat tolerant moss as well as what moss would grow best indoors. I have many carnivorous plants and am contemplating making a terrarium, or just growing the moss indoors. Any suggestions? Great website, its hard to find moss being sold let along several kinds! Thanks.

Growing moss indoors still requires the light and moisture as well as air circulation. If grown in a terrarium alone or with plants and frogs etc with no high heat...I have been able to grow all my moss and lichens well. I have a plant bulb(Long tube for aquariums) and have to spray the moss a few times a week. I also grow bromalids and ferns in there as well. The frogs/toads and local lizards all seem to like it just fine.
As for high heat /humidity like the dart frogs need, I have not. If anyone here has used some of the moss I have for your dart frogs please post here to help this person and others so they know what to purchase for that. I thank you all for always helping each other.
